Situated along the slopes of Mount Kenya- Ngariama, the Kiamugumo coffee factory is part of the county's Farmer’s Co-op Society.

Grown in mineral rich volcanic soil, the SL28 and SL34 varieties thrive with plenty of irrigation to combat an annual rainfall of almost 1700m.

In this area of Kenya, smallholders deliver coffee to Kiamugumo before it undergoes processing to remove the skin and pulp. The water source for this comes from the Kii River after which it is cleaned before being led back into nature.

After washing, the coffee is dried on typical African raised beds then taken to the Central Kenya Coffee Mill in Karatina Nyeri county for grading and sorting.

In the long term Kiamugumo hopes to increase their sustainable coffee production, training and access to education for the farmers they work with. 2024 is our first year buying from Kiagmugumo but we hope to continue this relationship.
